Canadas new pronouns law which is simmilar to the NYC pronouns law which says that you can be imprisoned for "miss prounouncing" someone or recive a fine if you refuse to use the persons prefered pronouns you will be fined or you will have to do a non monetery redemity and if you refuse to do that you will likly be in court and probobly face prison.

What Zeph is referring to is that maps of India are sometimes depicted with the State of Jammu & Kashmir (it's one state) lopped off entirely and as part of Pakistan while others show the State of Arunachal Pradesh as part of China or both. Both these states are quite big, and the government was understandably quite upset with this (as were the people). IIRC Google got a notice from the Government for fucking up its maps.

If a transgender requests in writing you use the word 'ze' to describe the transgender, then you are expected to use that term.

The critics say that if you 'forget' to use it, or mispronounce it because you aren't familiar with it, you could end up in prison..

It seems absurd of course, but the problem with Human Rights Commissions is that while 99% of the time, they do what they are supposed to do, there have been a couple of cases where they have destroyed peoples freedoms by taking advantage of the poorly written laws - laws that skillful prosecutors can and have used to trample over some unfortunate Canadians.

So because there is no excuse or exemption for mispronunciation, and because there is a legal precedence, then yes, it is conceivable a person could be imprisoned for mispronunciation of a pronoun.
