Silverlight 5 beta has recently been released, and it looks like while Silverlight will not stop being developed by Microsoft--it is taking a turn for it to intergrate better with Windows and being more gaming-focused, which is just what Afterwind developers would want! A headlining feature is hardware acceleration of 3D graphics, which could be a stepping stone to solving this much-protested-about issue. A number of modules have been put into Silverlight from XNA to make it more versatile in developing awesome games like Afterwind. Here's a more in-depth look at the new features. As it states in the article, Silverlight 5 is "a worthwhile but not revolutionary upgrade." I'm sure, you, Ivan and Amok, are well aware of this release, but what do you think? Is there a new feature you're excited about in this release? Don't forget, Moonlight will soon be upgrading to work with Silverlight 4 and a lot of ground has been covered already. You wouldn't want to break such compatibility for a few throwaway features in Silverlight 5, so choose wisely.

If they were to make the game board a sphere, I would never play this again.

Same here, that'd suck, and probably screw up a lot of the various movements, and require a complete reworking of the maps which could take who knows how long. I'm happy with the imperious feel of moving set pieces across a fancy map.
