The militarily clad Rome Consul, Servius Cornelius, gives a speech to the senate:
Welcome, fellow senators. I have come forth to announce that war shall be declared this day! The Mamertines deserve our protection and we shall not back down from Carthaginian provocations. Nor shall we fear repercussions from unruly Socii, furthermore there shall be NO unnecessary landbills while the Auctoritas yet hold sway in Rome!
All those who support the Socii, or are accused of sympathising with them shall be sanctioned. Traces have been found of secret collusion between the Antiqualum faction and the Samnites, for this they are excluded from the first government. The suggested landbill that clearly discriminates against Roman citizens in favour of other minorities is hereby denied.
*Following this announcement, Servius Cornelius takes out his carefully crafted proposal to show the other senators*
in addition:
Auctoritas puts in 3 denarii for an equite for Servius Cornelius
All money transferred to Servius Cornelius
Servius Cornelius tries to persuade the neutral senator

Field Consul, Andertius Fabius, gives a speech to the senate:
"Fellow senators!
We had rough few days behind us, five of our fellow senators have died. A grave pestilence has swept through the city, affecting rich and poor alike. The recent immigrants from the pyrrhic wars have set up suburbs filled with filth, and a disease from that region spread into the city, felling many nobiles, the rest fleeing to their country estates.
Some of our fellow senators already started intrigue games, not caring about future of Republic, rather fighting for their own interest. Let's hope that our loved Republic will not expiate from personal burdens of few senators."
*Senatores plaudite!*

Assasination !
Lucius Cotta's carriage was halted for no reason late at night. A gang of men attacked but from among the nearby crowd. They tried to capture one but he drank a flask of what seems like hemlock, convulsed and died, with the knowledge of who hired them with him.
1d6+1 = (3)+1 (assassin card)= 4
Effect: Perpetrator fails but escapes

Gaius Servilius might not be an innocent man, but he did what he tough was right - for he wanted to ensure the survival of the roman republic, something that every true roman would do.
If Gaius Servilius survives this trial, the commercium will abstain from voting for 3 elections and a Tribune will be given to auctoritas.

Auctoritas agrees, hoping to find out who attempted to take Lucius Aurelius Cotta's life. And to keep unity in the Roman government. Assassinations are plebeian tier savagery

Pontifex Maximus, Lucius Aurelius Cotta steps forward and speaks;
''Greetings, fellow senators, I congratulate all on their new positions and I am humbled to be your Pontifex Maximus. It has quickly become clear to me that it is sacrifices that the gods demand from us mere mortals, the gods will answer us in kind, and the omens predict victory against Carthage if we succeed.
Otherwise, we shall gain another defeat as Fabius', explained by the gods being unhappy for being sidelined for too long, we must all sacrifice parts of our treasuries this turn in order to gain the blessings of Mars for this war. Only trough humility and faithfulness, can we be victorious. A victory against Carthage will give us a great boon blessing the crops, making us beloved with the people, and most of all it shall please the gods.
I shall personally offer all the donations and income I receive for my position to this war effort.'' (all of the Pontifex Maximus income)
-The Auctoritas Faction Leader and Censor, Servius Cornelius, whispers something in his ear-
Lucius continues;
''This of course will only happen if the other gens donate generously. I must caution you all against greed, the omens regarding greed were.. catastrophic''
