Man I was so happy when Dortmund was put into group D. Actually was hoping for it! What a nice group. Hopefully they can finally show their great football on the European stage, last year they were very unfortunate to drop out early. Also, they managed to defeat Bayern Munich in all their games (cup finale even 5-2), the same Bayern side that kicked out Man City and Real Madrid last year. Now I know such comparisons are retarded, but this is only to point out how good they actually are. Also, have a look at this:

Oh great, a glory hunter. who you gonna support next PSG? I've supported the same team since i was born, Aston Villa, and also support Walsall, another local club in a lower league. I generally despise football as the game it is now, most footballers become them because they want money, and not because they love the game, this is not how sport should be. Then you have people like the chairmen at Chelsea, Manchester city, PSG just playing fantasy football. all premier league football in England is on pay television and premier league clubs get 50 million a year in television royalties. The start of the premier league in the first place was just all about money, and the champions league (since it 1992 format) is all about money. football at a high level is all about money and it's disgusting.

I don't know why people are always so mad about glory hunters. Why not let them be supporters of the currently best club? The best club mostly (hi Chelsea) always plays the best football, so for the beauty of the game- why not let them be a supporter of the current best team? What actually speaks against it? Shouldn't you be glad that your club attracts other people by it's style of play, even if it's only for a short time? I think it's an attitude from the Ultras block to whom football is all thier life and those people try to differentiate themselfs from the normal supporter, as if they are something better, as if they are the only ones who should be allowed to support their club. And concerning football being all about money- it's not to me. I don't like all those suggar daddies either, but then something like that would not be possible in Germany because of our laws and I do not have that problem. Feels good man!

Chelsea aren't the best team, I think they were 3rd in the premier league at the end of this season, but idk, knockouts are a bit of luck to some degree. Also just because a team has a lot of money pumped into it doesn't really mean they are going to play attractive football, Manchester city/Chelsea have some superstar players, but sometimes their teamwork isn't as attractive as teams such as Arsenal and Man U and Barca, who are high level and can afford players ofc, but can't just spend crazy all year. The problem with glory hunters is that as I said, I have supported the same team all my life, they are like a nation to me, i mean you i don't support Brazil because they win world cups so why should I support a team at league and champions league level just because they are winning. Also there is a difference between supporting a team because they play attractive football, and supporting one just because they win, that is a glory hunter. I will happily watch a team who wins if they are playing well, actually I will watch any football game that looks good, but i'm not going to support a team and want them to win just because they have won before, those kinds of fans are normally not football fans at all, just glory hunter. Also, money does effect you. Your team not having as much money reduces your chance of getting a great team member, and for German teams to finish higher in the champions league. I mean, you look back 30, 40 years and beyond, and it was all about coaching, a good coach could have you finish 15th or something one year, to top place or further next year, but now it's the same teams in contention for the title every year and staying in the league after promotion is incredibly difficult.

You have mistaken my (hi Chelsea) there, it was irony. I put it right after the mostly to show that they are indeed an exception, as they played the worst football I've ever seen in last seasons CL. And I never said that money equals attractive football. From your words I still can't see what's bad about glory hunters, but I guess that's just a matter of attitude. I'm very relaxed in such concerns. Even though I'm not from Dortmund I supported them all my life, even when they were near bankrupt in the mid 2000s, had to sell everything and everyone and were just another midtable team. Now we've won back to back Bundesliga titles and suddenly the sport shops are full of BvB jerseys and everyone loves them- I actually like that. I don't have any problem with it. Once again, I only said that football is not all about money to me, nothing else. Of course it affects my club/me when they can't buy a Hazard, a Hulk and so on but what do I care? I just like to be in the stands and cheer at my team together with 80.000 others. That's what football is about, not the international stars or anything else. And I still think it's all about choaching. After all, Man City was kicked out of both CL and EL very early last year. The same goes for Man United, who despite their star players were kicked out of CL by Basel. The hell, what about Nikosia? They were only stoped by Madrid. Let me give you an example: Gladbach in the 2010/2011 Bundesliga barely avoided relegation, finishing third from last. They actually were the very last until Lucien Favre took over in the latter stages of the secod half of the season. He stabilized the team that only won 4 matches until then, saved them from relegation and in last years season, he managed to end up 4th. That's relegation to Champions League qualification within only a year by the exact same team. Isn't this what you've just said was only possible 30, 40 years ago? But let's do it, let's look 30, 40 years back. Who was winning the Euro Cup back then? Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Inter, Milan, Man United. I can't really see a diffrence.

Oh if my team became famous i doubt i would have a problem with supporting them tbh. My problem is football rivalries lol, eg. i have friends who support the team who they think is best for a year, and rub it in whenever my team loses to them, as you can imagine it gets pretty tiring having that every year haha. i guess you don't mind if your team Dortmund doesn't do too well, you just love to see them play and cheer at them. that's understandle, and how football should be haha, for me, i want to see my team do well, and it's annoying seeing our best players go to the bigger teams haha. When i meant coaching, i meant people who train the players, not managers, i mean youth academies and such. The problem is now is if there is any hot prospect in the club even in academies, major clubs will go and buy them for ridic prices. i mean in the last 2 years my team have lost gareth barry and james milner to man city and ashley young to man u, power players that could change our position. it's very very rare clubs succeed against the powerhouses because of this. And also your example, if you look at the power clubs in england there is Arsenal, Chelsea, liverpool, Man u. they have pretty much qualified for champions league every year. now man city has come into the fray (pumped with money), but yeah it's very rare anyone else gets up there, it's never happened in england apart from newcastle. (and tottenham the year arsenal won it, and then the year liverpool won it i think, so they weren't allowed in because they took 4th spot for CL)

Todays another big evening! ![]() I know if Dortmund plays to it's full pontential they can win against City, but I feel like they're going to lose since they play in Manchester. But I'm a rather optimistic guy so I'll say it's going to end 2-2, that'd be great.

What a great game that was! Would have been happy with only 1 point in Manchester at first, but after the game it feels like we kinda got robbed by 2 points. I personally think that handball wasn't worth a penalty, but I don't feel like discussing this either as it's futile. At the end of the day Dortmund had enough chances to sink City. Anyways, if they keep playing like this I'm confident we can beat Real Madrid at home. The finishing will just have to be way better. Still I'm very proud of the lads.

Mh, the situation is not quite the same as prior to the Manchester game. We have many injuries and many players that just came back from injury in a hurry, including Götze, Hummels and Bender, also some second choice players are going to be on the pitch... I don't like them to play this way, argh. But I'll enjoy anyways, let's see how far we can get! :-D

What i saw was a team (Ajax) who invest in youth development and nurturing talent to play the beautiful game without the need to spend millions. The opposition merely a bunch of overpayed spoiled brats, who couldn't string a pass together....and eventually all spoiled brats get a good clip around the ear. Ajax's team: Vermeer - youth product Van Rhijn - youth product Alderweireld - youth product Moisander - 2.5m Blind - youth product Eriksen - youth product Poulsen - free Schone - free Sana - 250k De Jong - youth product Babel - free (originally a youth product) Total cost: €2.75m Compared to Man city's team that spend almost €500m on new players. Score: 3-1 It wasn't a victory for Ajax only, it was a victory for football.
