I'm pleased to announce Brianwl has been promoted to admin. In this new role, he will have authority over all community issues, overseeing the moderator team, and any other tasks that require admin-level access.

In short, Brian has the authority and ability to handle anything that previously would have been done by me. He has kindly agreed to help out as I am planning to step back from the community a bit, and instead focus more on just the programming and business side of atWar.

I know we will be in very good hands under Brian's leadership. He is a long time atWar player, moderator, and highly respected throughout the community.

The survey was up for about 2 weeks and we got a total of 278 responses. As promised I'm making the results public. Here are the results:

Analysis: 63% of respondents somewhat agreed or strongly agreed that toxic behavior has been a serious problem on atWar. Not a surprise here, that's a pretty compelling "yes" from the community.

The Supporters Team would like to invite all players to the Official Discord Server this Saturday, March 2nd between 3pm and 7pm CST (Central US Timezone), the following is what we'll be doing.


The Supporters have been planning for the past two months on what new things can be implemented into AtWar. Below is a list of what we will announce:

The global Help chat has been replaced with a new Supporter Help chat. To use it, use the command /help from any chat channel in the game.



The new Supporter Help chat operates similarly to the Moderators chat and the /report command. When you type /help along with your question, it will be sent to all supporters who are currently online. From there a supporter can reply to you via pr and help you with your issue.

Advantages:

• No more global Help spam.
  
• All users can utilize the /help command. (unlike the other chat channels, it is not limited to r2's and above. there is no rank restriction)
  
• Most importantly: this should help improve the experience for new players just beginning to learn our game.

I'm pleased to announce a new strategy called "Counter-Insurgency" is now available for a limited time!

Counter-Insurgency turns air support units (i.e. sentries) into, essentially, predator drones. The strategy also gives you extra protection against Insurrection. Here's a breakdown of exactly what Counter-Insurgency gives you:

All units get:
+2 defense against militia, marines, submarines, stealth planes, sentries
-1 defense against tanks, destroyers, bombers, infantry
+1 view range

Sentry Planes get:
+4 attack (making a total attack of 5)
+5 critical chance
+20 view range
-230 cost

Infantry gets:
-10 cost

Militia gets:
-1 range

Marines, Submarines, Stealth get:
-1 attack
+20 cost
-1 defense when attacked by sentries

There have been a few incidents lately related to players sharing their accounts with others. In some cases, this has included sharing with banned players as a way to let them play the game.

As per the game rules, if you share your account, you will be held responsible for any actions that occur through your account.

4.2 Member accounts are non-transferable. Registered users are responsible for any actions that take place on their accounts or private messaging systems.

Additionally, if you share your account with a banned player, you will be banned too.

Bottom line, don't share your account. If your "friend" does something and gets your account banned, we will not undo it, and we will not refund any premium days you lose as a result. It's not worth the risk.

Our new payment integration with Stripe is now available! You can now purchase Premium and/or ProtoCoins using all major credit/debit cards (in addition to our PayPal option, which remains unchanged).

This will be our replacement instead of Xsolla, which unfortunately I have given up on trying to implement. If you're interested why, read on:

About a month ago you may have noticed I removed our Xsolla payment option. This was due to atWar's change of ownership. In order to transfer the Xsolla account from the old company to the new one, we were required to create a new account. I didn't think this would be a big deal, so I started working on this.

First they required me to do some initial integration work, which I did. Then they required me to sign a bunch of paperwork, which I did. Then, after a week or so, they contacted me with some questions, which I answered. So far so good. But then they went silent on me. My last contact with them was 2-3 weeks ago... no phone calls, they don't answer my emails, nothing.

The Official Discord Server, separated from our various community run Discord servers, will be the upfront secondary mean of communication. Various discussions about upcoming atWar Events, pesky little map bugs, valuable assistance and mentorship on basic game play + mapmaking, etc will be happening on that Discord Server.

The aW Official Discord Server Will

● Serve as a social platform for our players
● Have web-hook integration for our Facebook + Twitter + Reddit pages.
● Be a hub for our translators to continue their work, with the various untranslated languages.
● Provide a secondary if not direction communication with our Moderator & Supporter Team.
● Be a focus point for our Social Media Partners, giving them valuable access to input on the various videos, memes, etc they might create.
● Be pivot for our invaluable mapmakers to bounce ideas off each other and the community
